Current tenders and requests
Any new tenders will be advertised on the Ministry of Defence website and can be downloaded from the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) which is managed on behalf of the New Zealand Government by the Economic Development Group within the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE). This is a free Internet based tendering system used by all government departments and a wide range of other agencies. Potential primes and local industry interested in Defence opportunities are encouraged to register on the Government Electronic Tender Service website.

Industry involvement policies
Principles and policy relating to industry involvement in defence purchasing will be in accordance with overall government procurement policy.
Australia/New Zealand defence suppliers
The Australian Department of Defence maintains a database of companies that are interested in supplying goods and services to Defence, or may wish to participate as subcontractors to Defence contracts.
The New Zealand Defence Industry Advisory Council (NZDIAC)
The NZDIAC acts as conduit between the Minister and industry on defence matters; provides national and international defence industry advice to the Minister; and encourages strategic relationships between Defence and industry.
The Minister of Defence Awards of Excellence to Industry
The Minister of Defence Awards of Excellence to Industry were established by the New Zealand Defence Industry Advisory Council (NZDIAC) in 1998 to highlight and reward the contribution made by industry to Defence. The annual presentation of the awards takes place at the awards dinner, which concludes the NZDIA Defence Industry Forum in Auckland.
