Chart 1: Process for Defence Capability and Resourcing Review
Chart one outlines the interaction the Defence Capability and Resourcing Review with the ongoing corporate level activity within the NZDF. Strategic guidance and the policy framework set the planning assumptions and mission for the NZDF.
NZDF resource allocation and acquisition activities geared towards meeting the planning assumptions and mission would inform the work of the DCARR. The DCARR proceeded in six sequential steps.
Confirmation of the mission preceded a review of outputs, capability, and resourcing. A subsequent analysis of gaps was followed by an assessment of the consequences of these gaps. Advice was then provided that served as the basis for the final stage of the generation of solutions.
DCARR solutions were to be used to inform NZDF resource allocation and acquisition activities.
