The Royal New Zealand Air Force
The Organisational Structure of the Royal New Zealand Air Force
The Royal New Zealand Air Staff is headed by the Chief of Air Force, Air Vice-Marshal John H. S. Hamilton, ONZM, MVO, who reports to the Chief of Defence Force.
The Air Force is separated in five sections:
- Air Staff
- Personnel
- Logistics
- Training
- Support.
All of these sections are overseen by the Chief of Air Staff.
The Air Staff section is headed by the Office of Deputy Chief of Air Staff and consists of:
- Plans
- Development
- Resources
- Inspector General (Air)
- Internal Audit (Air).
The Logistics section consists of:
- Logistics Wing
- Aeronautical Procurement
The Bases/Support Services section consists of:
- Air Base Wings which are located in:
- Auckland
- Ohakea
- Woodbourne
The Training section consists of:
- The Ground Training Wing
- The Flying Training Wing
- RNZAF Command and Staff College
The Chief of Air Staff also has oversight of the Air Component Commander at HQ JFNZ.
The Air Component Commander is responsible for the following:
- No. 5 Squadron
- No. 3 Squadron
- No. 40 Squadron
- Operational Support Squadron
- Parachute Training and Support Unit
