The Ministry of Defence
Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Defence
The Ministry of Defence is headed by the Secretary of Defence and is the equivalent of the Chief of Defence Force in the NZDF.
The Ministry is split into five divisions:
- Defence Policy and Planning Unit or DPPU, which is headed by the Deputy Secretary Policy and Planning.
The Defence Policy and Planning Unit is split into three branches:
- The Strategic Policy Branch
- The Strategic and Capability Analysis Branch
- The International Defence Relations Branch
Both the Deputy Secretary Policy and Planning and the International Defence Relations Branch have direct relationships to the Chief of Defence Force.
- Acquisition Division, which is headed by the Deputy Secretary Acquisition
- Evaluation Division, which is headed by the Deputy Secretary Evaluation
- Corporate Division, which is headed by the Deputy Secretary Corporate
- Finance Section, which is headed by the Assistance Secretary Finance.
