2020 Awards of Excellence to Industry

The events of 2020 have impacted the defence industry in different ways, operating in new environments and under different conditions. The 2020 Awards will acknowledge the challenges and successes for industry operating in these times.

About the Awards of Excellence

The Minister of Defence Awards of Excellence to Industry were established in 1998 to highlight and reward the contribution made by industry to Defence. The Awards are administered by the New Zealand Defence Industry Advisory Council on behalf of the Minister of Defence.

This year we received an unprecedented number of nominations. This response highlights the amazing work our industry partners have been doing with Defence throughout 2020.

The theme for the 2020 Awards is ‘Defence and Industry: Working in partnership for good outcomes for New Zealand’. The awards will be presented in early 2021 with a celebratory dinner to congratulate industry and reflect on the work we have done together in 2020.

Judging took place in late 2020 and finalists will be annouced shortly.
