Release of Cabinet Material relating to Proposed Ongoing Military Contribution to the Defeat-ISIS Coalition

In March 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defence announced that New Zealand Defence Force personnel were returning to New Zealand following the successful conclusion of the Building Partner Capacity mission at Taji.

The Ministers also announced the Government’s decision to maintain an ongoing military contribution to the Defeat-ISIS Coalition, with four NZDF personnel deployed to the Coalition Headquarters in Iraq and Kuwait, and five personnel; deployed in operational support roles based in Qatar: https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/new-zealand-defence-personnel-conclude-mission-taji(external link) (external link)
