Minister of Defence industry award winners announced

Defence Minister Chris Penk has announced the recipients of the 2025 Minister of Defence Awards of Excellence to Industry at an event at Parliament.

“Thank you for your exceptional service. Your delivery of high-quality equipment, assets, infrastructure and services is fundamental to the successful operations of the New Zealand Defence Force and Ministry of Defence,” Mr Penk said in his comments.

There are nine award winners and eight finalists this year, all recognised for their high standards, attention to detail, innovation and employment of New Zealanders.

“Your contribution boosts supply chain resilience and ensures Defence will always be ready to respond in times of trouble,” Mr Penk said.

The winners include a construction company that built the Maintenance Support Facility at Burnham Military Camp, and a clothing company that designed and manufactured new combat socks for the New Zealand Defence Force.
