This companion study to the Defence Review 2009 focuses on the defence industry, in particular 'examining options for economic improvement in the sector'.
The study has been approached from three perspectives by looking at ways to optimise New Zealand's defence spending in the domestic economy, examining the potential to develop New Zealand's 'defence industry' export capability and examining the potential to improve economic activity from defence spending. This study makes a set of recommendations for the Government's consideration around developing and implementing a defence industry policy tailored to New Zealand's requirements.
